Join us at The 2014 Winter Sculpture Fair presented by MasterCard, for a day of contemporary art combined with the best food and wine in the country. This is the perfect excuse to get out of the city, and spend the day in one of Gauteng’s most spectacular outdoor venues.
Over the weekend of 10 and 11 May 2014, the acclaimed NIROX Sculpture Park will be transformed into a contemporary wonderland, with larger-than-life sculptures dotted across the landscape, creating the ideal background for a social marketplace.
Artlogic have partnered with Franschhoek to bring the town’s top chefs and wine producers to Johannesburg, thus creating an unmatched culinary experience in Gauteng. Expect a day of top-end exclusive meals, charcuterie, and wine and bubbly by the glass. There will also be a selection of wine and goods to take home, making this a great opportunity to stock up with quality produce for winter.
There is currently no single event in South Africa that focuses on sculpture, although the phenomenon is gaining momentum internationally with events such as Frieze Sculpture Park in New York.
At the Winter Sculpture Fair, you will be able to meander through the ‘NIROX SCULPTURE | WINTER 14’ exhibition, which features iconic local works. What’s more, MasterCard and NIROX, together with Artlogic, will unveil a sculpture that was commissioned last year.
After having successfully created the FNB Joburg Art Fair and Sanlam Investments FoodWineDesign Fair, Artlogic has been looking to create a new event that offers Gautengers an opportunity for a day out of the city. We see this as the perfect day trip, where discerning visitors can enjoy good food, wine and art, in a spectacular setting with friends and family.
